Drift in Video Games vs Real Drift: Are They Alike?
They overlap, but they are not the same. What transfers from drift games to real drift is the mental side: reading the corner, anticipating the turn-in, understanding that the car rotates and you counter-steer. What does NOT transfer is the physical side: real G-forces, the weight of the wheel and clutch, and the fine body coordination.
