Winter Break in Buenos Aires: An Adrenaline Plan for Adults

Winter break in Buenos Aires: an adrenaline plan for adults

This article is currently available in Spanish. A native English version is coming soon. Quick summary: every July, Buenos Aires fills up with winter-break plans aimed at kids — and adults who stayed in the city get cinema, malls and grey skies. The alternative: learn to drift. A prepared BMW E36 328i, rear-wheel drive, on a private closed track on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, one-on-one with a professional instructor riding shotgun. No experience needed, automatic-only drivers welcome (the clutch is basically just for pulling away), and classes run in any weather — wet-track drifting is actually easier and more fun. Winter bonus: cold dense air makes the straight-six feel alive, and tyre smoke hangs thicker in cold air, so your videos look twice as cinematic. Prices: Drift Intro $300 USD (30 min), Drift Experience $500 USD (60 min plus edited video), Pro Driver course $2000 USD (5 sessions). Car, fuel, tyres and helmet included. Each student can bring up to 3 spectators; couples book consecutive classes and take turns.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need experience or manual-gearbox skills?
No. Classes are for absolute beginners and the instructor guides you step by step, one-on-one. If you only drive automatic, no problem: the clutch is basically just for pulling away, and in the slide you work the steering and throttle in a fixed gear.
Does the class run if it rains or is very cold?
Yes, the class runs in any weather. In the rain drifting is easier and more fun: the car slides at lower speed. And the cold helps — dense air suits the engine, and tyre smoke looks thicker in your videos.
Can I bring my partner or friends?
Yes: each student can bring up to 3 companions, who watch and film from a designated safe zone. If several people want to drive, you book consecutive classes on the same day and take turns — each with their full one-on-one time.
How much does a drift class cost during the winter break?
The same as all year, no seasonal surcharge: Drift Intro $300 USD (30 minutes), Drift Experience $500 USD (60 minutes plus edited video), Pro Driver course $2000 USD (5 sessions). Car, fuel, tyres and helmet included. Payment 100% upfront: US dollar cash, pesos at the MEP rate or USDT.
Does it work as a winter-break gift?
Perfectly: the digital voucher arrives via WhatsApp within 5 to 15 minutes of payment, stays valid for 12 months and can be transferred once to another person. The recipient picks whichever date suits them, in winter or later.
Where is the track?
On the outskirts of Buenos Aires, at a private closed circuit with no traffic or pedestrians. The exact address is shared via WhatsApp once the booking is confirmed.
