Drift School in Buenos Aires: Lessons, Prices and How to Start [2026]

The only drift school in Buenos Aires with its own track and car

If you are looking for a drift school in Buenos Aires, you have probably noticed that real options are scarce. Most of what you find online are open track days where you are left on your own, or ten-minute "adrenaline experiences" that leave you wanting more. Our school is different because it is built for actual learning — with structure, progression and an instructor who stays with you every step of the way.

We operate on a closed circuit in the Buenos Aires province with an area specifically designed for drifting: wide corners, run-off zones and well-maintained asphalt. It is not a blocked-off street or an empty parking lot — it is a professional circuit with the safety conditions you need to practice without risk.

What car we use and why

The school car is a BMW E36 328i fully prepared for drift. A 2.8-litre inline six engine producing 200 HP, rear-wheel drive, welded limited-slip differential, adjustable coilover suspension, Sparco racing seats with four-point harnesses and a certified roll cage. It is the same type of car professional drift drivers in Argentina use for training and competition.

The BMW E36 is the gold-standard learning platform in the drift world. Its 50/50 weight distribution, balanced chassis and smooth engine make the car's reactions predictable and progressive. When you add throttle, the oversteer builds gradually — not suddenly like in more powerful machines. That is exactly what you need when you are learning.

You do not need to bring your own car. For most beginners it is actually better to learn in a school car: it is set up to take the punishment, tyres are replaced regularly, and if anything breaks it is our problem, not yours.

Class structure: from briefing to the track

Theory briefing (10-15 minutes)

Every class starts with a briefing where the instructor covers the fundamentals before you get in the car. If it is your first time, we explain what oversteer is, how to provoke it and how to control it. If you already have experience, the briefing focuses on that session's specific exercises — transitions, tandem runs or more aggressive lines. It is not a boring lecture: these are the concepts you will need in the next few minutes behind the wheel.

Basic exercises: finding control (first sessions)

For beginners, we start with oversteer initiation drills. The instructor sits in the passenger seat and guides you in real time. You learn to provoke the slide using the throttle, hold counter-steer and correct when the car gets away from you. Within the first 15 minutes you will feel what it is like to carry a car sideways under control.

Progression: more angle, more speed

As your confidence grows, sessions become more challenging. We move from a single corner to linking two or three turns while maintaining the drift, from conservative angles to more aggressive entries, from moderate speeds to competition pace. Progression is natural and personalised — the instructor adapts the exercises to your actual level, not a rigid programme.

Advanced techniques (experienced students)

For those who have mastered the basics, we work on high-speed counter-steer, fast transitions, tandem driving with another pilot, and initiation via handbrake and clutch kick. These are the techniques you need to enter amateur competitions or simply to experience everything drift has to offer.

The instructor: professional competition experience

Our lead instructor is an active competition drift driver in Argentina with more than ten years of teaching experience. He is not someone who learned from YouTube — he is a professional who competes, who knows the techniques first-hand and who has the patience to guide you from zero to a competent level.

The most important thing about the instructor is real-time communication. While you drive, he tells you exactly what to do: "more throttle", "release the brake", "look where you want to go". That live guidance is the difference between learning in three sessions what would take you months on your own.

Levels and packages

Drift Intro — 30 minutes on track ($300 USD)

Ideal for a first time. Includes briefing, safety gear and 30 minutes of driving with the instructor beside you. Most people achieve their first controlled slide in this session. Perfect for testing whether drift is for you.

Drift Experience — 1 hour on track ($500 USD)

For those who want to go beyond the initial taster. With a full hour of track time you have room to move from basic drills to linking corners and sustaining longer slides. Includes an onboard video of your session.

Pro Driver Course — 1-hour sessions ($400 USD per session)

A progression programme for returning students. Each session builds on the previous one with increasingly challenging exercises. The goal is to bring you to a level where you can join drift track days and eventually amateur competitions.

Groups and corporate events

We offer packages for groups of friends and companies. Three to eight people, with rotating turns on track and time in the pit area so everyone enjoys the experience. It is one of the most original corporate experiences you can organise in Buenos Aires.

Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars and include everything: car, tyres, fuel, instructor and safety gear. There are no hidden costs. Payment is arranged via WhatsApp and we accept bank transfer in Argentine pesos (at the day's exchange rate), cash dollars and crypto.

Compared to similar experiences in Europe or the United States, drift prices in Buenos Aires are significantly more affordable. One hour of track time with an instructor and a fully prepared car for $500 USD is a fraction of what you would pay at any drift school in the northern hemisphere.

What every class includes (no extra costs)

Every session includes: the fully prepared BMW E36, fuel, practice tyres, certified helmet, safety harnesses, instructor briefing, on-track coaching and an onboard video of your session. The only thing you need to bring is yourself, comfortable clothes and flat-soled shoes.

About the circuit

The track is located in the western suburbs of Greater Buenos Aires, roughly 40 minutes from the city centre. It is a fully licensed circuit with a covered pit area, toilets and parking. The drift zone features corners of varying radius that allow practice from basic exercises through to complex transitions.

Rainy days are not automatically cancelled. In fact, a wet track is an excellent opportunity to learn traction control at lower speeds — many advanced drivers deliberately seek out these conditions.

Frequently asked questions about the drift school

Do I need previous experience to take a class?

How many hours do I need to learn to drift?

In 30 minutes you will achieve your first controlled slide. To link corners and sustain longer drifts, most students need between three and five hours of practice spread over several sessions. You can read more about progression in our article on how many drift lessons you need.

Can I come with a group of friends?

Yes, we offer group packages for three to eight people with rotating turns. It is a popular option for birthdays, stag parties and corporate events.
